JULY 14 GAME NOTES
Pony Green drops heartbreaker to Riverview, 10-8: Pony Green traveled to Riverside Field in Oakmont tonight as the clear-cut underdog in the first round of the Guyasuta playoffs. But for six solid innings, you could not tell. They frustrated undefeated Riverview's powerhouse offense with strong defense and offense of their own generated by Shawn Tunstall, Marcus Dean, Thorin Knupsky, Jon Beckas, Sean McGrath, and Ryan Kirby. Pony Green rode strong pitching by Daniel Wimer and McGrath to a 7-4 lead. Bad calls and errors in the sixth and Wimer's injury on a wild pitch turned the tables, as Riverview grabbed a 10-7 lead and stiffled the upset of the season. Pony Green added a run in the seventh, but came up short to close the year.
