Devonte Stackhouse and Seth Ferris (3-for-3) offered up longball doubles, while Malik Baxter, Demond Hardy, Ryan Kirby, Jacob Dewalt and Mark Lodge singled. Stackhouse (eight strikeouts) and Thorin Knupsky (three strikeouts) pitched well to hold WVR to only one run in six innings. Pony Red got their fans' hearts racing in the seventh, giving up six runs and depleting their lead to a single run. Alex Marusic struck out two in the seventh, before Hardy threw four pitches to strikeout WVR's final batter with the bases loaded and two outs, allowing Pony Red to hold on for the win. Pony Red baserunners also wowed at times. Hardy stole home, and Ferris literally hurdled WVR's third-baseman to elude a tag. |
